In 2017, the Festival of Regions will make a stop in Marchtrenk, a municipality that has always been characterised by dynamism and demographic change. Aspects of fleeing and movement, hospitality and resentment as well as the artistic approach to them will be thematised under the motto UNGEBETENE GÄSTE.

The walk-in sound installation “Angezählt / Counted out“ returns a discovery from the archives of the Vienna Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, a voice recording of Italian prisoners of war in Marchtrenk from the year 1918, to its recording location.
