“Running Light“ is a light installation that turns Marchtrenk’s water tower into a light signal. A light strip revolving 360° around the cylinder-shaped water tower makes reference to the signal devices that serve to determine the position at sea. Turned into an all-round beacon, the tower provides its own as well as the other’s position. As an abstract light sculpture, it refers to movement and fleeing, as well as corresponding forms of navigation and direction.
