Contemporary art often tends to be uninvited. So, what good reasons can there be for an increased presence of art in Marchtrenk in 2017?
The project “Good Reasons” intervenes in the period before the Festival of Regions and wishes to provoke discourse. It sees itself as an experiment in communication, asking: “Why should artists make the journey to Marchtrenk?” Unsolicited personalised postcards approach the citizens of Marchtrenk, but also the festivalmakers, demanding to take a position. During the festival period, a postcard and poster campaign will announce these extracted “Good Reasons” for and against art.
