Input and conversations about working realities and visions for working
Work and its distribution is a notable factor in the relations between the genders: the work of some is economically and symbolically valuable; the work of others is undervalued. The unpaid work in the domestic sphere and the lower payment of women and female migrants are with us still today, despite all official equality. In addition, all people are affected by the neo-liberal maxim of profit-maximization: the gulf between rich and poor is growing worldwide, and all natural and human resources are being exploited. Nevertheless there are counter-movements for general well-being, just distribution of work and income as well as social participation. Based on sociological diagnoses and experience, there will be discussions about new perspectives for thinking and acting, for there is a need for a change in shift and a change in vision to achieve good living for everybody.
