Bust talks is a performance series that has been running since 2018, based on the assumption that busts and statues are not just cold, soulless objects, but potential witnesses whose experiences and views can have an impact in the present. The entertaining and critical interview situations show how even problematic statues can be overwritten discursively and thereby drawn into the present. In Ried, Thomas Geiger will talk to the statue of Franz Stelzhamer and discuss poetry, populism and anti-Semitic hate speech with the renowned local poet.
