29.04.2025 OÖN-Kulturstammtisch #2

After the great interest in the first OÖN Kulturstammtisch in January, the second round is now underway: the next edition of the format will take place on April 29 – starting at 6:00 pm and once again at the Kulturhaus Gugg in Braunau. The title of the second discussion round is “Gedächtnisluckn”. Braunau is a town that everyone knows. However, it is mainly perceived by outsiders because of the house where Adolf Hitler was born. At the same time, many details of the town remain undiscovered. The Festival of Regions 2025 “Realistic Dreams” wants to consciously think beyond this one-sided image of Braunau – by doing exactly what the Festival of Regions does best: using courageous, critical contemporary art as a tool to break up old thought patterns and open up new perspectives. As part of the second OÖN Kulturstammtisch, we would like to address the following questions: How do we as an art festival deal with this historical charge without falling into the traps of tabooing or excessive medialization? What perspectives are there beyond the familiar narratives? And what actually moves people here in the city when it comes to history and its significance for the present? The Stammtisch once again offers the opportunity to exchange ideas in an open, informal setting. Moderation: Peter Grubmüller Head of the Culture Department, OÖ Nachrichten
